The fact that the garden must have been constructed with a combined effort between the two countries is special, however I prefer to think it is the beauty of the Park that the people of North Dakota have identified with, because that beauty is a reflection of the rest of the state. Straddling the border between North Dakota and Canada is the International Peace Garden, a beautifully, and intricately designed botanic garden, and it is from this feature that the state has decided to name itself.
